green lakes endurance runs

The NHT is a not-for-profit public benefit corporation of the State of New York and is recognized as a tax-exempt 501c3 organization. The NHT serves as a focal point for the receipt and management of private funds given to New York State for developing public programs in conservation, recreation, historic preservation, and community improvement.

The Green Lakes Endurance Runs raises money for the NHT through contributions of its sponsors, entrants, and a portion of the race proceeds. This money goes directly to protecting and renewing the scenic, recreational, and historic resources of Green Lakes State Park for the public good.  

Since 2006, the Green Lakes Endurance Runs has raised nearly $1,000 for the NHT's efforts at Green Lakes State Park. This has directly supported environmental education for school children and the renovation of the historic Great Room building where the races are stationed.

As a participant in GLER, you should be proud of what you are supporting. Please consider, what in most cases is a tax-deductible contribution, a donation to the NHT account at Green Lakes State Park.

Your check should be made out to NHT or Natural Heritage Trust and mailed to the Green Lakes Endurance Runs address below. You might want to include a note of thanks to the management and staff of Green Lakes. We will be sure to deliver the donation to the park manager with the understanding it is coming from a GLER participant. This is a wonderful way to thank the park for hosting the Green Lakes Endurance Runs.
