Green Lakes State Park is a treasure just east of Syracuse, New York. The park takes its name from two glacially-formed lakes (Green & Round Lake) which get their distinctive color from deep clear waters and minerals. Round Lake is designated a National Natural Landmark.
Of the park's 1,756 acres, surveys have found nearly 800 acres of old growth forest. This multi-use park has campgrounds, miles of hiking/biking trails, and a golf course with restaurant. The beach area includes picnic areas, a concession stand, beach house showers, and a playground. This is a nice setting for family and crew.
