GREEN LAKES STATE PARK

This state park is a treasure just east of Syracuse, New York. The park takes its name from two glacially-formed lakes (Green & Round Lake) which get their distinctive color from deep clear waters and minerals. Round Lake is designated a National Natural Landmark.

Of the park's 1,756 acres, surveys have found nearly 800 acres of old growth forest. This multi-use park has campgrounds, miles of hiking/biking trails, and a golf course with restaurant. The beach provides swimming, picnic areas, a concession stand, showers, and a playground. This is a nice setting for family and crew.

NATURAL HERITAGE TRUST

Green Lakes State Park is a unique and inspiring natural asset. Many generous New Yorkers and others have stepped forward to protect and preserve Green Lakes.

The Natural Heritage Trust (NHT) is the ideal vehicle for individuals to contribute to the State's efforts to enhance Green Lakes State Park. The NHT is a 501c-3 public benefit corporation established to advance numerous parks, conservation, recreation, historic preservation and waterfront revitalization goals.
